Immunization Law Updates for Rising 6th Grade Students

In addition to the immunizations that have been required, beginning with the 2014-2015 school year, The Georgia Department of Public Health requires that all students born on or after January 1, 2002 who are entering 7th grade, and all new entrants to Georgia schools in grades 8-12 will be required to have the Tdap (Tetnus, Diptheria and Pertussis) and meningococcal conjugate vaccines before entering.

High School Course Selections

Course selections for North Cobb High School were distributed today in homeroom.  Parents requesting class changes should list the class(es) they want removed under “Drop,” then replace it with the desired class under “Add.”  Waivers for core class changes (for example, requesting a move from on level Biology to Honors Biology) are handled through the same drop/add process. 

Allatoona High School recently mailed their course selections home.  Class changes are also made through the drop/add process.

Forms for both schools are due to Dr. Deane no later than Friday, May 1^st.

Magnet course selections are being handled through the respective programs.  Magnet students who received a North Cobb or Allatoona form should simply write which magnet program they are attending on the course selection form and return that to Dr. Deane for record forwarding purposes.

Allatoona High School mailed high school course selections home over the weekend.  North Cobb will deliver those to the middle school either this week or next.  A firm delivery date hasn't been set.  Notice will be posted on the blog as soon as it becomes available.
