Pebblebrook Salute to the Arts

The Cobb County Center for
Excellence in the Performing Arts at
Pebblebrook High School
Presents
SHOWCASE 2016 – A SALUTE TO THE ARTS

For tickets:

CCCEPA presents SHOWCASE – A SALUTE TO THE ARTS.  These performances are also a salute to our students. Our showcase highlights student work from the Drama, Technical Theatre, Dance, and Vocal Departments. Each evening is different and includes students featured as directors, choreographers, singers, dancers, pianists, technicians, instrumentalists, and actors. The students were responsible for selecting their own songs or scenes, casting the acts, choreographing the dances, rehearsing the acts, and performing the acts. 317 entries originally were submitted for SHOWCASE. The two performances of SHOWCASE will feature nearly 200 performing arts magnet students, from freshmen to seniors. They will be performing in or running tech for the 70 acts chosen to be a part of this year’s showcase. For many of the performers, SHOWCASE is their first time to perform on a Pebblebrook stage. We hope you will join us for CCCEPA SHOWCASE – A SALUTE TO THE ARTS

Humans Need Not Apply

A friend mentioned this video when I was doing career talks with the students.  The video shows how much the workforce is changing as our children look toward the future.

PSAT 8/9 Testing Next Week

PSAT 8/9

The PSAT 8/9 is a test that will help you and your teachers figure out what you need to work on most so that you’re ready for college when you graduate from high school. It tests the same skills and knowledge as the SAT, PSAT/NMSQT, and PSAT 10 — in a way that makes sense for your grade level.

Who and When

  • Eighth and ninth graders
  • October 17-21

Benefits

The PSAT 8/9 establishes a baseline measurement of your college and career readiness as you enter high school. It also gives you a chance to preview the SAT, PSAT/NMSQT, and PSAT 10 and connect to AP courses.

Calculators for PSAT Testing

8th grade students will be taking the PSAT on Wednesday, October 19th.  Calculators are allowed for part of the math section.  Students may bring either a basic four function or a scientific calculator.  No calculators will be provided by the school.

According to the publisher's information all questions can be answered without the use of a calculator.

Students wishing to use calculators should turn them in to their homeroom teachers no later than Tuesday the 18th so the memories can be cleared prior to the start of testing.  Students should tape their name and homeroom teacher's name on all calculators to ensure they are returned to the proper person.
